Kathleen Murphy

Research Assistant

Background: Kathleen Murphy received her Master of Arts and is currently working as a research assistant for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 073 Grant, "Development of a Community Health Environment Checklist." Ms. Murphy has a Masters Degree in education and is a former principal of an elementary school. Ms. Murphy, a paraplegic, dedicates her time to organizations promoting accessibility for people with disabilities, such as the Catholic Archdiocese Commission for People with Disabilities. She is also involved with raising money for a state-of-the art accessible pool/fitness center in one of the local communities.

Contributions to Project: As a research assistant, Kathleen Murphy manages participant payment, interview scheduling, data entry and data organization in the research office. Ms. Murphy also performs periodic evaluations of the research process and provides suggestions for improvement.
