Background: Denise Curl received her Bachelor of Arts and is a data manager in the Program of Occupational Therapy at Washington University School of Medicine. In one project, she organizes the databases for the Centers for Disease Control Grant, “Development of a Community Health Environment Checklist”. As data manager, she programs the databases, organizes the data entry system, prepares disks for data entry, provides programming support, and checks for data entry errors. She also trains and supervises data entry personnel. Prior to current projects, she managed the data collection for the study involving children with Cerebral Palsy for the Centers for Disease Control Grant, “Spasticity and Strength as Indicators for Rhizotomy,” on which Dr. Gray was a co-investigator. This involved development of an assessment tool, data management, and performing subject interviews. She was involved in the development of assessment tools resulting from work on the Centers for Disease Control Grant, “Mobility, Disability, Participation and the Environment” as well. Ms. Curl also has experience in web page development. |
Contributions to Project: For this project, Denise Curl assists Dr. Hollingsworth by programming the databases, preparing disks for data entry, providing programming support, and checking for data entry errors. She prepares data for statistical analysis and develops charts and tables for journal articles and final reports. Ms. Curl also assists with developing an assistive technology component for the Washington University and Paraquad websites and updating the “Accessing Your World” computer program. |
