Background: Mrs. Walker is an Occupational Therapist and a graduate of the Masters in Occupational Therapy program at Washington University. Her special interests are working with adults to achieve an optimal employment fit and encouraging independence in the community. Previous to joining the Paraquad staff, Carla worked as an Occupational Therapist in a work rehabilitation/industrial consultation clinic. Prior to becoming an OT, Carla served for fours years as a human resources professional. |
Contributions to Project: Carla Walker, MS, OTR/L, is a Paraquad employee and serves as the Community Research Project Manager on the NIDRR “Assistive Technology in the Community” grant. She works with the program manager in recruiting, selecting, scheduling and performing assessments at the Enabling Mobility Center (EMC). In addition, Carla coordinates the monthly vendor demonstrations, AT Consumer Fair, Educational Conferences, and prepares individual AT Resource packets for research participants. In 2004, she will coordinate the peer consultant program and oversee the intervention phase of the research project. |
