Airplane Travel | Boarding the Airplane | At The Airport | Airline Information
Airports must comply with ADA Accessibility Guidelines including accessible:
parking near terminals, medical aid facilities and traveler’s aid stations,
restrooms, drinking fountains, ticketing systems, baggage check in and retrieval
systems, gateways and mobile lounges, and directional signs indicating location
of specific facilities and services.
All airports must include an accessible route from an entrance to ticket
counters, boarding areas, and baggage retrieval that reduces any extra distance
an wheelchair user must travel compared to other passengers.
Individuals with disabilities are subject to the same security screening
procedures as the rest of the traveling public. They shall not be subject to any
special screening procedures. However, security personnel are free to examine
any assistive device that they believe is carrying prohibited items.
